More Information

We seek passionate, committed board members to transform and sustain our organization. The Foundation’s Board and staff have recently completed a new 5-year strategic plan and, in partnership with agencies, organizations, tribal government, and landowners, we recently completed a comprehensive restoration plan. As a board member, you will lend insight and guidance to our goals and strategies, operations, and financial management. You will be an emissary to the community, promoting the Laguna Foundation’s work and cultivating financial support and collaborative partnerships. We are particularly seeking new members with expertise in financial management, philanthropy, public relations, and marketing/communications. We are also seeking new members with lived experiences that represent the rich cultural and demographic diversity of all communities of Sonoma County. Our work is rooted in the value of diversity as we stand for equity, inclusion, and excellence within our organization and community through meaningful engagement that welcomes and respects all voices and perspectives.

Joining our Board of Directors offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the environment and the community. You will work alongside a dedicated group of individuals committed to supporting the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation in safeguarding the health and biodiversity of this unique and valuable watershed where most Sonoma County residents live, work, and play.

If you are interested in becoming a board member, please submit your resume and a brief statement telling us why you wish to serve and how you envision contributing to our mission to board@lagunafoundation.org by January 20, 2025. We intend to onboard the first cohort of new members in Spring 2025. Prior nonprofit board experience is not necessary. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who bring fresh perspectives and unique skills to the Foundation.
